Welder
Description of Tasks
- Read and interpret plans or welding instructions.
- Use manual or semi-automatic equipment (flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW).
- Use manual or semi-automatic flame arresters.
- Use welding and brazing machines.
- Use machines to shape metals, such as bending presses and shears, as well as other machines for straightening and bending metals.
Requirements
- Secondary School Diploma is an asset.
- Diploma of Vocational Studies in Welding and/or the equivalent and/or relevant work experience.
- Diploma in High Pressure Welding is an asset.
- ASP Construction Card (course in General Health and Safety on Construction Sites).
- Hold a Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) card; FCAW and SMAW are assets.

Industrial Mechanic
Description of Tasks
- Read plans, diagrams and specifications for work planning purposes.
- Install, align and move fixed or industrial machinery or mechanical equipment such as pumps, tanks, conveyors, boilers and generators.
- Operate machinery, lifting equipment and parts during installation, assembly and machine repair.
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
- Adjust and repair or replace defective parts.
- Use machine tools, particularly grinders, to produce the parts required for reparations, maintenance or machine set-up.
- Clean, lubricate and ensure machine maintenance.
- Assemble machinery and equipment before installation using manual and electric tools and soldering equipment.
Requirements
- Secondary School Diploma is an asset.
- Vocational Studies Diploma in Industrial Mechanical Construction and Maintenance and/or an equivalent and/or relevant work experience.
- Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) card.

Assembler
Description of Tasks
- Study drafts and technical plans, determine equipment needed, plan task sequences used to cut metal in the most efficient way possible.
- Elaborate models or templates to be used as assembly guides.
- Mark reference points and patterns on metal parts according to instructions.
- Install, lift and move equipment in warehouses or at the worksite.
- Assemble and adjust metal sections and plates using spot welding, rivets or other methods.
- Adjust and operate various high-efficiency machines to shape metal, particularly stamping presses, shears, cutting torches, grinding wheels and CNC equipment to bend, cut, shape, drill holes, pierce, or shape sturdy metal elements.
- Install components on the final product.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the assembly.
- Shop Drawing Reading Course is an asset.

Drafter
Description of Tasks
- Prepare concept drawings, sketches or models for approval.
- Prepare production plans, specifications and production guidelines.
- Consult with clients, engineers or production experts to establish product requirements.
- Consult with engineers and production personnel during the production stage.
Requirements
- Vocational Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a specialisation in design (all other training judged relevant will be considered).
- 1 to 2 years of experience relevant to the position.
- Experience on worksites and in the industrial domain is an asset.
- Mastery of Autocad and Solidworks software.
- General Health and Safety on Construction Sites training conducted by ASP-Construction is an asset.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work in teams.
